× Instructor: Jose Miguel Esteban
Sep 24- Oct 8
Friday 1PM-3PM

Through this course, we will release the stories that flow through the gestures and movements of our bodyminds. Influenced by practices of meditation, contemporary dance improvisation, and the impulses of our present needs and desires, we will breathe in the inspiration of each other’s movement and connect to our own relation to the spaces around us by sharing in a collective act of embodied storytelling.

If you have any access needs, please let Cynella know.

About the instructor: Jose Miguel Esteban practice engages with dance and movement as a way to access the stories that reverberate through the gestures and movement of our body. So much of our selves have been choreographed for us and so through improvisational practices that connect us to the presence of our being and its relationship to all that surrounds us (objects, the space, other beings) I invite anyone who wants to join me in releasing the different stories of us that we hold within our skin, bones, and flesh. Jose Miguel Esteban practices have also been inspired by my current PhD work in Social Justice Education with a focus on disability studies and the practices of disabled dancers, artists, and creative thinkers. In particular he seek to understand and pursue the multiplicity of ways through which we sense our bodies in order to nurture our coming together in space.
