Tuesday 6:00PM-7:00PM

In our studio practice, we often prioritize what seems “good” over what feels “new.” Exploratory Drawing uses a combination of structured drawing exercises, storytelling techniques, and mindfulness exercises to help you find, maintain—and share—a curious and inventive approach to your work. The methods we’ll use in Exploratory Drawing are also great for writing, performance, and other creative practices. We’ll meet Tuesday evenings for our core session, plus an optional office hour session on Fridays. Some Topics We’ll Cover Structured writing exercises, relationships to imagery, relationships to line quality, awareness-building exercises, body relaxation exercises, responsive/improvisational image-making, critique methods

Materials: Approx. 40 pages of drawing paper, e.g. Drawing pad, 8.5"x11" ● Graphite pencil ● Ink Pen ● Red Colour Pencil ● Blue Colour Pencil If you have any access needs, please let Cynella know.
