Amplify Your Thinking As artists it’s very common to feel stuck or uninspired, but with a little help you can work through that artist's block and get back to creating! We will teach you activities and exercises that will help you adjust your thinking patterns and tackle your projects from a different perspective. Build on your existing concepts and take them to the next level. This workshop will teach you the skills necessary to refresh your practice through a series of weekly sessions. Our tools and templates are created to inspire you, so you can confront challenges in a unique way. Topics that will be covered include: Concept Ideation, Creative Reading/Writing , Goal Orientation, Visual References, Alternative Mediums, True Inspiration, and Thought Organization.

About the instructor:

Amplify Collective is a Toronto based wearable art and production company. We specialize in experimental unisex accessories and upcycled fashion pieces, as well as curated immersive events. Turn up the volume with Amplify! We create one of a kind wearable pieces, community classes and live experiences. Our focus is upcycling already existing items to promote sustainability while still remaining fresh and fashion-forward. Amplify owner Allison Wood has an extensive background in fashion, marketing and events. Her designs have lit up the stages of Fashion Art Toronto, The MMVA's, PRIDE and The ROM. She has curated marketing campaigns for Nike, Jack Daniels, YouTube and many more!

Allison Wood is a black artist, a survivor of sexual violence, an addict in recovery, and is a disabled artist who struggles with a variety of mental health issues. She has prevailed despite these challenges and hopes to present a series of classes with Workman Arts to provide artists a strong foundation to grow their practice in a variety of areas. Areas of expertise include but are not limited to: support them in curating their own event, market and promote their brand and work on a variety of platforms, upcycling textile art, talent/team management and creative thinking.
