Toronto ON M6K 2B2

× Instructor: Khadija Aziz
April 25 to May 30
Mondays 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM

By exploring and exploiting the core principles of drawing and stitching, participants will develop their own visual language that speaks to any facet of their identity. We will practice mark-making with hand-made drawing tools and thread to create an artwork or small collection of textile samples.

Materials: List will be provided by April 8th. If you have any access or material needs, please let Cynella know.

About the instructor: Khadija Aziz investigate image-making with textiles using manipulation, experimentation, and the ever-shifting nature of cloth. Her process-based practice bridges the gaps between textile-making techniques and digital technologies to generate unexpected outcomes through translation, chance, and distortion. Khadija is currently pursuing an MFA at Concordia University’s Fibre & Material Practices program. In recognition of her creative practice, she has most recently received the Shanks Memorial Award in Textiles from Craft Ontario and the Creative Promise Award from Surface Design Association in 2020.
