"Finders Keepers" is a workshop on writing found texts with words scavenged from sources ranging from books to shampoo bottles. Each week we will examine a different style or type of found text writing and anonymously workshop each other’s creations.
Materials: Device with internet connection,and pen and paper. If you have any access or material needs, please let Cynella know.
About the instructor: Sadie McCarney is a queer, Mad, and neurodivergent writer-performer based on Prince Edward Island. She is the author of the poetry collection Live Ones (University of Regina Press, 2019/ tall-lighthouse UK, 2020) and the found poetry performance text/mental health memoir Head War (Frog Hollow Press, 2021), which has been turned into an award-winning Fringe Festival performance; a film version is in development. Sadie's work has appeared in Best Canadian Poetry, The Walrus, Literary Review of Canada, and many literary journals.
