You will learn to turn your stories into comics. The topics are included but not limited to character design, comic terminologies, writing stories, comic book design, typography while get inspiration from renowned contemporary comic artists and their works, as well as learn the traditional methods of illustartion, Japanese Manga and graffiti art. You will learn to adapt your stories into graphic narratives and will make a comic book by the end of the program.

About the instructor: Sarvenaz Rayati is a multidisciplinary artist based in Toronto. She received her BA in painting and visual communication from Art University in Tehran. She has exhibited her works internationally. In recent years, she has been working on two ongoing public art projects, People & Trees installation and Mosaic Stories Mural.
“Storytelling has always been my main motivation to create art. Heritage, the self, path, nature, the act of seeking—these are all recurrent themes in my work. I’m inspired by Persian miniatures & literature, comics and life around me.”
