Class Description: ADHD (Attention Deficiency Hyperactivity Disorder) is a medical diagnosis given to people who are perceived to be struggling with paying attention, hyperactivity and impulsive behavior. Creativity and nonlinear thinking occur frequently in people who attract this label, thus many ADHDers gravitate towards the arts. Join Kat Singer - a multimedia artist and a neurodiversity-affirming therapist - and your peers in an exciting 6-week educational journey where you will learn about ADHD traits and get to know and befriend your own brain. Kat will present a plethora of tools that can help you start, organize, plan, and complete tasks, manage emotions and impulses, cope with fluctuations in attention and motivation, and support your memory.

Disclaimer: This is not a therapy/treatment group. The content of the sessions is for educational purposes only.

Disclaimer 2: While this knowledge has the potential to benefit anyone who wants to work with their brain and not against it, the content has been tailored specifically for people whose brain functioning is impacted by ADHD.

Materials: A notebook+pen (if you want to take notes) and a computer (there will be optional worksheets).

About the instructor: Kat Singer, MSW, RSW, (they/them) is a multimedia artist, educator, and therapist in private practice. Kat’s interests include neurodiversity, self-advocacy, community-building, and healing through the arts.
